Robert Halfon Photo of Robert Halfon(Harlow, Conservative) : Following my question to the Prime Minister yesterday, may we have an urgent debate on petrol prices and how they are hitting public services? Last year, the police spent £78 million on motoring fuel and it could hit £90 million this year

Please donate to help the fight for lower fuel prices and a better deal for drivers

High oil prices will continue and the impact on our society as a whole will be astronomical.

im a community nurse and the money we get for mileage from the NHS doesn't cover it at all so yes we are paying out of our pocket for fuel to do our jobs.

Break up the corrupt CARTEL that comprises the corrupt OPEC states. They control oil prices by reducing production and hold the world to ransom.

Call me a little cynical if you like but lets just look at these comments and the PM's comments.

The fuel duty escalator, Now this was a John Major idea, i dont recall him being part of the last government really.

A 1p cut in duty is hardly what i would call "the government taking the necessary action" perhaps a scrapping of fuel duty would be.

I have told you enough times how to do it. Hold a referendum, Leave the EU, keep our own money, and use it to abolish fuel duty giving the UK the chance to rebuild the ecomomy that the last government did ruin.

like a certain meerkat says, SIMPLES!
